Privately-owned medicinal cannabis company LeafCann has secured a Medicinal Cannabis import licence from the Australian Government.
The licence, which will enable LeafCann to supply Australian patients with high-quality medicinal cannabis, comes on the back of a wholesale dealers’ licence enabling the company to warehouse and distribute a range of cannabis medicines under prescription.
Medical cannabis in Australia
Leafcann’s philosophy is ‘patient first’ and its world-class management team and leading international professionals on the advisory board bring decades of combined experience working with and in regulated Medical Cannabis schemes. LeafCann’s promise is to provide the highest quality, consistent product, at affordable prices, creating great value for patients and reliable dosing for physicians.
LeafCann CEO, Elisabetta Faenza, said: “The import licence is another win for the company and brings us another step closer to filling the void in the current market which needs reliable high-quality medicinal cannabis. Our goal has always been to provide Australian patients with the best available medicine and the import licence helps us to do that.
“LeafCann has teamed up with a fantastic supplier of organic medicinal cannabis in The Green Organic Dutchman and I look forward to the first shipment early next year.”
LeafCann expects to have medicinal cannabis products available in the next six months.
Quality cannabis medicine
Following the anticipated launch of its essential oils range in December, LeafCann will also be distributing a high-quality, EU-GMP certified, organic medicinal cannabis range in Australia and New Zealand.
Any medical cannabis products sold in Australia must be free from, or below the designated threshold for, contaminants such as pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, and other dangerous chemicals. LeafCann has an organic production process that ensures none of these contaminants are present in any of the products.
